Last month, I’ve written article about “Black Thunder” Today’s snack is the variation of it. It’s called “Black Thunder Gray Zone” Though it’s apparent that they named it strangely to draw the attention, we cannot rebel against it. Black Thunder itself has kind of weird taste and it is strengthened in here. By the way, this is sold only at Lawson (a large convenience store chain)
Let’s compare with the image of original Black Thunder below. This Gray Zone seems to have more to say to consumers. Let’s see from left precisely.
「禁断の境界線！？」→Means “Forbidden boundary !?” I have no idea what is forbidden and the boundary is between what and what. I suppose they put this word because the color is gray.
「ハイ！雷神」→Means “Hi! Thunder god!” In Japanese, “Gray” is pronounced as “Hai” and they are probably making a joke with it. The problem is nobody will laugh.
Anyway, it conveys us their passion. And what else do we care?
OK, let’s move to the taste. The chocolate is like this. Same as original, it looks like cooled magma. And yes, it is gray!
It looks like this when you bite. Now it’s hard to tell the difference.
And about the taste, I could feel the flavor of oranges, which is the feature of Earl Grey. The puffs are crunchy and the chocolate also tastes good. Considering the price, it’s more than what I expected.
