What a pretty package! It is kappaebisen for new years!
Red and Gold are colors of good luck, as well as new year celebration.
Ebisen literally means “shrimps crackers” as you see on the package.
The shrimp on the package looks delicious. I can expect this to be yummy!
Ise ebi is a kind of shrimp which is very famous for its rich and creamy taste.
(Ise is a place in western Japan, and Ebi means shrimp in Japanese.)
And it is very expensive, too.
“Kappaebisen” is one of the most famous snacks in Japan.
Cannot stop, cannot stop♪ is its copy. Sounds addictive.
It has 50 years of history.
Calbee decided to make Iseebi kappaebisen for the 50th anniversary of Kappaebisen.
Japanese people love this little salty sweet snack.
It is said that Japanese snack makers flavor their snack less salty than it should beso that consumers cannot get satisfied, and buy more snacks…
I do not know how true it is though.
I LOVE this pleasant smell!
Rice cakes, or Japanese crackers smell so nice, especially those containing seafood.
Shrimps, crabs, Scallops, etc…
that is why I love kappaebisen! Itadakimasu!
It’s good! so delicious as usual!
(Although I am not pretty sure if there is any hint of Ise ebi flavor, which is expected to make this snack taste better than ordinary one.)
